When you check your rate or contact us, we may collect:

• Identity and contact details: name, email, phone number, address and date of birth.
• Financial details: loan amount and purpose, income, pay frequency, housing status, unsecured debt and estimated credit range.
• Employment and education details.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and cookies.

We will ask for your Social Security number only when a lender needs it to verify your identity or provide a quote.

• To match you with participating lenders and show estimated rates and terms.
• To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
• To prevent fraud, secure our services and comply with law.
• To improve our website and, with your consent where required, to send you updates.

When you request rates, we share the information you provide with participating lenders and lending networks so they can evaluate your request and present rate quotes. Each lender uses your information under its own privacy policy.

We also share information with service providers who help us operate the site (such as hosting, security and analytics), and when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

By requesting rates, you authorize HappyPath and participating lenders to obtain your credit report through a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. If you accept an offer and continue with a lender, that lender may perform a hard credit inquiry, which may affect your credit score.

Information you submit is transmitted using TLS with 256-bit encryption and stored with access controls and encryption at rest. Only authorized personnel and service providers who need it to deliver our services may access it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard safeguards. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
