How HappyPath is compensated
HappyPath Financial is a free service for consumers. We may receive compensation from participating lenders and lending networks when you click on an offer, submit information, or take out a loan. This compensation may influence which lenders appear on our site and where, but it does not change the order in which your personalized offers are ranked. Our marketplace does not include every lender or every loan product available.
How offers are evaluated and presented
When offers are shown, we rank them by lowest estimated total cost (total of all payments including fees) and clearly show APR, monthly payment and term. The offer labeled “Best match” is the one with the lowest estimated total cost for the information you provided.
Offers are estimates based on a soft credit inquiry and are subject to the lender’s verification and final approval. Sample comparisons shown before you apply use example lender names and hypothetical numbers and do not represent actual offers or partnerships.
Representative APRs, terms and fees
- APR range: 7.99% to 35.99%
- Loan terms: 24 to 84 months
- Origination fees: 1% to 10% of the loan amount, which may be deducted from loan proceeds
- Loan amounts: $1,000 to $100,000
- Representative example: a $10,000 loan over 36 months at 12.99% APR has 36 monthly payments of about $337, for a total of about $12,129.
Eligibility for the 7.99% starting APR
The advertised starting APR of 7.99% is the lowest rate available from participating lenders and is offered only to the most creditworthy applicants. To qualify, you typically must:
- Have excellent credit (generally a FICO® score of 720 or higher) and a strong credit history
- Enroll in automatic payments (autopay), which may reduce the rate by up to 0.50%
- Choose a qualifying shorter term, typically 24 to 36 months
- Meet the lender’s income, debt-to-income and verification requirements
Most applicants will not qualify for the lowest rate. Your actual APR depends on your credit, income, loan amount, term and lender.
Soft and hard credit inquiries
Checking rates uses a soft credit inquiry, which doesn’t affect your credit score. If you accept an offer and continue with a lender, the lender may perform a hard inquiry, which may affect your score.
